A little about Major Twumasi-Ankrah

This is a super achievement for 38-year old Twumasi-Ankrah who have served previously in military capacities in Afghanistan. This adequately fits the bill as the position of the Queen’s Equerry basically demands that you have served in the armed forces.

His academic path cuts through studying at Queen Mary University of London, proceeding to the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst.
Ankrah has a knack for making records as he is also the unprecedented British Army Officer to be commissioned into the Household Cavalry. Back in 2011 when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wedded, Ankrah added color to the wedding both physically and literally, serving as an escort commander for the wedding.

Little dreams turn big

For Twumasi-Ankrah, it was more of growing up into those big dreams he had when little. Being around the English royalty has been a childhood craving for Ankrah who relished watching the “Trooping the Colour” with fascination when he was just a kid.  Major Twumasi-Ankrah had left Ghana for UK as far hack in 1982 with his parents.

According to Ankrah: “I would have never imagined that one day I’d command the regiment which I’d fallen in love with.

“From what I’ve seen in the UK, our cultures really do mix and if I’m not a good example of that I really don’t know what is.”
